Spring Season Recap
Wow, what a spring season it's been! We just have to take a moment to celebrate all the fun and excitement on the fields!
First off, a huge shoutout to our coed U14 team — they went undefeated during the regular season! While they faced a tough loss in the final tournament, we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and determination. Way to go, team!
Our U10 girls teams also rocked it this season! The Sheshells made it all the way to the semi-finals in their bracket — talk about some fierce competition and fantastic teamwork!
And let's not forget our U12 coed team! They showed some serious growth this season. After a tough match against a strong team, they bounced back and came out on top in the next game. Talk about resilience!
We're super excited about the expansion of our in-house U4, U6, and U8 teams! Every week brought thrilling matchups filled with eager kiddos ready to play and have a blast! Their energy and smiles made every game special.
Our league is growing, and it's been amazing to see so much action on our fields this spring! Keep spreading the word about Dixon Soccer League — we want to keep welcoming new friends and families to our soccer community!

Important Update: Moving from TeamSnap to PlayMetrics
Important Update for Dixon Soccer League Families
As we prepare for the upcoming fall season, Dixon Soccer League will be transitioning from TeamSnap to PlayMetrics for all team communication, scheduling, and registration.
This change also aligns us with ECSA, which is moving to PlayMetrics, helping create a more unified and efficient experience across clubs.
With PlayMetrics, you'll have easier access to schedules, messaging, payments, and club updates all in one place.
What you need to know for Fall:
• All fall season communication will take place through PlayMetrics
• Registration and team information will be managed in the new system
• Setup instructions and next steps will be shared soon

Dixon Soccer League — Recreational Soccer
Dixon Soccer League
The league's core recreational soccer programs — including in-house U4, U6, and U8, plus coed and girls teams at older age groups. Registration is managed through PlayMetrics for the fall season.
Total Soccer Training (TST) · Coach Rick Smith, UEFA A License
Summer soccer camp hosted by Total Soccer Training and offered to Dixon players. Coach Rick Smith holds a UEFA A License — the same qualification that trains professional players in Europe.
Personalized 1-on-1 soccer training: focus, technique, confidence. Sessions cover more touches, skill development (dribbling, passing, shooting, first touch), game IQ, and confidence building.

Dixon Soccer League sparks lifelong love for soccer, fostering personal growth through volunteer passion in Sneads Ferry. As an NCYSA and ECSA member, we offer certified refs, quality training & inclusive, affordable play for all ages.
Our Programs
Dixon Soccer League (DSL) offers two different soccer programs:
Program 1
In-House Recreational Program
Our in-house program is designed for younger players (U4–U8) to learn the basics of soccer in a fun, low-pressure environment. Games and practices are held locally at Dixon Elementary School.
Program 2
Competitive Travel Recreational Program
Our travel program (U10–U16) competes against other ECSA teams across Onslow, Duplin, and Carteret counties. Teams follow ECSA rules with certified referees and end-of-season tournaments.
Games are played at the Soccer Fields at Dixon Elementary School in Sneads Ferry, NC. Away games travel throughout the region.
Fall season communication, scheduling, and registration are managed through PlayMetrics, aligning the league with ECSA (Eastern Carolina Soccer Association).

Dixon Soccer League is a community recreational soccer league in Sneads Ferry, NC. We are driven by parent and community volunteers, registered with NCYSA & ECSA, and are a fully insured, certified 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is to support the growth and development of youth soccer players by emphasizing responsibility, sportsmanship, competitive participation, and preparing players for challenges both on and off the field.

All practices and home games are held at Dixon Elementary School in Sneads Ferry, NC. Away games for U10–U16 divisions may take place in Onslow, Duplin, and Carteret counties against partner clubs including East Duplin, Havelock, Piney Green, Richlands, Southwest, and Summersill Soccer Clubs.
DSL complies with rules from DSL, ECSA, NCYSA, USYSA, USYA, USSF, and FIFA. U10–U16 divisions follow ECSA rules for travel league play.
📋 Registration
All registration is handled through PlayMetrics. Click the Register button at the top of this page or visit the link below:
U6–U8: Thursday evenings at 5:30 PM (practice followed by game). Some Saturday games at 9:00 AM.
U10–U16: Games on Saturdays, Sundays, or both days. Schedules managed through ECSA.
Practices begin two weeks before the first scheduled game at Dixon Elementary School.

Make sure your child comes prepared with the following:

🧥 Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing without pockets
For games, players should also wear their official DSL uniform.
👕 Uniforms
U4–U8: A jersey is included with the registration fee and will be distributed during practice. No separate uniform purchase needed.
U10–U16: Families order uniforms directly through soccer.com. The required kit includes a jersey, shorts, and socks for both fall and spring seasons. Ordering instructions are provided after registration. The uniform fee is separate from the registration fee.
On game days players should wear their official DSL uniform along with the required gear:
Official DSL jersey (provided or ordered through soccer.com depending on age group)
Shorts and socks from the uniform kit
Shin guards fully covered by socks
Cleats or turf shoes
Water bottle

Uniform kits for U10–U16 players are ordered through our team store on soccer.com. The kit includes the adidas Squadra 25 Jersey (home & away), Squadra 25 Shorts, and Copa Zone Socks.
Ordering instructions will be provided following registration.
🏅 Coaching & Game Rules
Coaches are drawn from the local community and include parent volunteers who are passionate about soccer and youth development. DSL is guided by U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy. Coaches receive support and guidance to create age-appropriate and inclusive training sessions. All coaches are risk-managed and have undergone background checks.
Every player is guaranteed at least 50% playtime per match, except in cases of injury or disciplinary reasons. Parents will be notified if their child is unable to meet the minimum playtime requirement.
4v4 format on a 15 x 25 yard field
4 quarters, maximum 10 minutes each
No referees or goalkeepers
Kick-in/dribble-in restarts
No offsides, no heading
Games held Thursdays at 5:30 PM and Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM
